The requirement for On Line Quality Monitoring on DTY processes has been well established for many years.

The industry standard method of On Line Monitoring for DTY is Tension Monitoring and Fibrevision are pleased to be able to offer the 2 leading tension monitoring systems, Oerlikon Fibrevision systems, UNITENS & WinOLT, being the original quality standards for DTY with the unrivalled experience of more than 3,000 systems and 800,000 sensors installed world-wide

Additionally, Fibrevision also offers a new Optical Monitoring system for DTY

The benefit of Tension measurement in DTY

It is widely accepted that the most important quality parameter in texturing is the correct yarn tension measured directly after the twisting unit (T2).

Abnormal tension levels and peaks result in both bulk and dyeing faults which can be avoided with tension monitoring through identification of faulty packages by:

  • Recording of tension faults
  • Quality grading by the number of faults
  • Display of fault events for error analysis

This identification of faulty packages provides direct improvement in the quality of the final product as well as the potential to eliminate the faults at source eg: faulty POY, misthreading, damaged parts and incorrect specifications.

The option of Optical Monitoring in DTY

FibreTQS provides Optical Sensors integrated into the DTY machine, replacing the standard end break sensor to provide both simple operation and minimum guide contact with measurement of:

  • Interlace
  • Denier Change (Ply Detection)
  • This sensor is located in the winding zone, and also replaces the function of normal end break sensors on both new and retrofit installations.

Optical Monitoring in DTY provides specific advantages with Interlaced yarn, where control of the quality of the Interlace is also important.
